Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has disowned one Okechukwu Isiguzoro as its national secretary, stating that the authentic national scribe of the body is Ambassador Okey Emuche.

The national vice president of the Igbo organisation, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, issued the disclaimer in a chat with journalists at Nanka in the Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State during a courtesy call by the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Anambra State Council led by its state chairman, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu.

Our correspondent noted that Isiguzoro has been signing and issuing press statements and other communiques as the secretary of the Igbo apex body.

But during the Nanka courtesy call, Okeke-Ogene asked the general public to disregard any of such documents issued by Isiguzoro, describing his acts and actions as impersonation.

Okeke-Ogene said,” I also want to use this opportunity to comment on the antics of one Isiguzoro who is claiming to be the secretary general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Iurge the public to ignore any report from the one-man Ohanaeze Executive called Isiguzoro from Abia State.

“The Secretary General of Ohanaeze is Ambassador Okey Emuche from Abia State who was duly elected by the seven states of Ohanaeze on 10” January, 2021 at Dan Anyim Stadium Owerri, Imo State Capital.

“I urge Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu to call the said Isiguzoro to order to stop embarrassing the lgbo nation.

“On this note too, I am calling on the Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Ambassador Emuche to be alive to his responsibilities and avoid leaving vacuum for Isiguzoro to claim and exploit in the media space to mislead the public. I apologize to those he has embarrassed with his write-ups. The reports were certainly not the stand of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.”

He thanked the NUJ for their visit and expressed optimism that the partnership between the media and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo would be sustained in the collective drive to reposition Igboland.
