Oraifite, Nnewi are brothers, I never stopped Igwe Orizu from breaking kolanut – Vin Dike

News

The campaign organisation of Sir Vin Dike who is the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ekwusigo Federal Constituency for House of Representatives has reacted to rumour that he once stopped the traditional ruler of Nnewi Kingdom, Igwe Kenneth Orizu from breaking kolanut in a function.

A press release signed by Sir Vin Dike Media Team and made available to journalists clarified the situation, describing the rumour as false, malicious and equally pathetic, especially as those peddling it never attended the event.

Dike insisted that the entire Nnewi and Oraifite where he hails from are brothers, and that attempt to divide them using political campaign laced with calumny will not stand.

The candidate suspected that his growing popularity in the upcoming contest may have been the reason his opponents are choosing the spread of malicious message as tool to bring him down.

RE: MALICIOUS AND FALSE NARRATIVE AGAINST SIR VIN DIKE —
SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

The attention of Sir Vin Dike Media Team has been drawn to a false and malicious write-up authored by a faceless individual concerning an event at NAUTH, an event the author clearly did not attend.

To set the record straight, our principal, Sir Vin Dike, serves as the President-General of Oraifite Improvement Union and Chairman of all the Presidents-General in Anambra State.

These above positions are built on strong, respectful relationships with traditional rulers across the state.

We categorically state that Sir Vin Dike never stopped His Royal Majesty Igwe Kenneth Orizu from performing kolanut rites in any event whatsoever, the allegations are entirely fabricated.

Clarifying the facts about NAUTH event, it is clear that the author is evidently referring to NAUTH event hosted for the Honourable Minister of Health & Social Welfare [Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate] to commission some projects named after some distinguished individuals, of which that day itinerary comprised two distinct gatherings thus:

* The morning event, which was held at Igwe Kenneth Orizu ICT Centre within the NAUTH permanent site, that session was attended by our principal, [Sir Vin Dike], the Chief Medical Director (CMD) Prof. Joseph Odili Ugboaja, His Royal Majesty Igwe Kenneth Orizu (alongside a few cabinet members), and distinguished dignitaries including Sir Emeka Offor and the representative of Chief. Cletus Ibeto.

Note: When Igwe Kenneth Orizu arrived, after the program commenced, Sir Vin Dike voluntarily gave up his seat to accommodate the monarch’s cabinet members, an unsolicited mark of respect grounded in tradition, no kolanut was presented or broken at the event.

* At the afternoon event, neither His Royal Majesty Igwe Kenneth Orizu nor his cabinet was in attendance. The only traditional ruler present was the Chairman of the occasion, (the traditional ruler of Ifitedunu, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dr. Chukwuemeka Ilouno.

* When kolanuts were presented, the visiting monarch began to handle them, Sir Vin Dike politely raised a cultural observation with the CMD and the royal father, noting that custom forbids a traditional ruler from a distant land from performing kolanut rites within Anaedo soil, of which a Reverend Father, later blessed the kolanut.

* Sir Vin Dike maintained his cultural stance in a civilized, peaceful manner, entirely devoid of thuggery or confrontation.

It is deeply unfortunate that a faceless author would distort a civil, culturally grounded observation to score cheap political points.

Furthermore, we wish to clarify the following:

* Oraifite and her ancestral brother, Nnewi, have enjoyed centuries of cordial coexistence.

* Nnewi and Oraifite are not in court over NAUTH, rather, some kindreds, such as: Enugwu Eziora in Ozubulu, Irefi in Oraifite, and select kindreds in Akammili, Nnewi, already had pending cases when Oraifite supported the election of Senator Ikechukwu Obiora, Hon. Chris Azubogu, and late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

* Any attempt to weaponize these matters to sow discord between brothers are dead on arrival.

Let it be on record that at no point did the Honourable Minister of Health & Social Welfare held any discussion with HRM, Igwe Kenneth Orizu regarding kolanut rites, nor was any apology rendered, as no offense was committed.

The author of the malicious write-up was absent and completely misinformed.

Sir Vin Dike remains deeply rooted in tradition, culturally respected, and enjoys an excellent relationship with traditional rulers across Anambra State, particularly HRM Igwe Kenneth Orizu.

All who know him will attest that he would never engage in any uncultured conduct.

We urge the public to disregard this fabrication that is aimed at bringing discord among brothers.
