PG of Ideani community, Ikekanachukwu picks APGA forms for Idemili North State Constituency election 

~ Gets endorsement of stakeholders

The President General of Ideani Development Union Federated (IDUF), Hon. Paul Chukwudubem Okoye, popularly known by his title name, Ikekanachukwu has picked the expression of interest forms to contest for a seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Ikekanachukwu is gunning for the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), to represent the people of Idemili North State Constituency.

In a picture he posted, the grassroot politician who visited the national headquarters of APGA in Abuja was seen displaying his expression of interest forms.

The politician and businessman had declared his intention in the presence of stakeholder of the Constituency in his home town, Ideani, where he received multiple endorsements.

He had told his constituents that: “This is the time of Ideani, we have been marginalized enough. I began Ideani politics since 2015, and sometimes in 2022, I decided to transfer my voter’s card back home from Port Harcourt in Rivers State. I became very active in voting and afterwards I was asked to come and contest as PG. The calls became much and I came and contested, and it was an overwhelming success.

“I have been unhappy with the position of Ideani in the politics of Idemili North. I have since then been engaged in the politics of protest. That was how I ran for chairman of Idemili North Local Government. I did it to ensure that the name of Ideani entered the book of contestants.

“But today, I am out to pronounce that I am contesting to be a member in Anambra State House of Assembly Idemili North Constituency.

We have said it in this new dispensation of Soludo, we will have an Ideani indigene in government. Thankfully, we gave the governor very wide margin of victory here in Ideani, therefore our support for our home party APGA and of great importance the present day government of Anambra State is not doubt.

“I’m embarking on this contest in the name of the highly marginalized people of Ideani, and I know that our listening Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo who dislikes marginalization and what it represents, would not hesitate to acknowledge the support of Ideani as a people and will intentionally respond accordingly”

He gained the support of stakeholders of the area, including Chief Peter Chibuike Onyejegbu, the PG of Uke who stated that: “Ideani PG is a competent man and we are happy that such a man is coming out for politics.

“I am the chairman of PGs in Idemili North and I want to tell you that we will support him as our own. He deserves to be elected.”

Also, Hon Chukwuebuka Okonkwo the councillor representing Ideani ward, while endorsing Ikekanachukwu, said: “We’re here for prayers, sensitization and orientation. We want to sensitize people on the need to join politics.

“We want our young people to come into politics, we want the men of integrity we have to come out and join politics and even contest for power. We want people who will come out and contest for political position, even if as a bargaining chip.

“What is happening in other communities around shows that most roads are being tarred currently, but it is not so in Ideani and we want to ensure things begin to happen here.”

Other stakeholders and community leaders, youth, who spoke during the event, all threw their weight behind him, describing him as competent, tested, and truly connected to the people.

They believe he represents a new kind of leadership one that feels the pain of the people and intentionally fights for their future with humility and integrity.
