Umeh visits Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg, gives hope to Nigerians in South Africa, Swaziland

Senator Victor Umeh (OFR) representing Anambra Central Senatorial District on Tuesday, 26th March, 2024, was at the Nigeria’s Consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa where the Consul General, His Excellency Andrew Idi received him with a warm welcome.

Senator Umeh who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora and
Non-governmental Organizations during the visit, held Interactive session with representatives of the Nigerian Associations resident in South Africa and Swaziland!

He received reports on various Issues of interest affecting Nigerians in the two countries.

He admonished them to keep working hard and shun any acts that would violate the Laws of their Host countries.

He told them that the Federal Government was presently pursuing reforms in various areas with a view to tackling the problems in the country!

He assured them that their problems and particularly their immigration challenges would be brought to the attention of the Senate and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Amed Tinubu, GCFR.

He also assured them of the support of the National Assembly in intervening in their problems with legislation and necessary oversight activities.

The stakeholders that attended the interactive session expressed their happiness with the visit of the Senator to obtain first hand information from the Nigerians and their affairs in South Africa and Swaziland!

The Consul General thanked Senator Umeh for the visit and the interactive Session.
