The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the just concluded Anambra State Governorship Poll, Senator Andy Uba, has vowed to recover what he called the mandate given to him and the part by the people of state in the November 6 poll.

He stated this in a meeting with the stakeholders of the party in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Saturday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Prof Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance the winner of the November 6 governorship election in the state.

Soludo polled 112,229 votes to defeat his closest contender in the poll, Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party who scored 53, 807 to emerge second.

Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress poll 43,285 votes to emerge third, while Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party came fourth with 21,261 votes.

But Uba in the Saturday meeting urged his supporters not to lose hope but believe that his mandate would be recovered.

While thanking God for a peaceful poll as nobody was reported to have died or sustained injury, Uba said there were wide spread manipulations of the poll.

“We will do everything possible to recover the mandate. Don’t lose hope; don’t weep. The election was grossly manipulated and it obvious to everybody,” Uba stated.
