The campaign coordinator of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Anambra State, Hon Ifeanyi Ibezi has said that winning Anambra State for the party and for its presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi is not enough.

Ibezi who was recently named the campaign coordinator for Anambra during the unveiling of the NDC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in his maiden press statement said he and his team will be working not just as party coordinators, but with the full knowledge that Obi hails from the state and needs to make a mark.

In the statement titled; A Call To Duty: Anambra, The Task Before Us, stated that the victory of their has to be responding enough to show how much his people love him.

He said: “I am deeply honoured by my appointment as the Anambra State Coordinator of the NDC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.

“I receive this responsibility with a profound sense of duty, full appreciation of the task ahead, and an unwavering commitment to the cause we have chosen to pursue.

“This is not merely an appointment; it is a call to service, a call to organise, and a call to bring people together around the collective aspiration for a better Nigeria.

“Anambra occupies a peculiar place in this campaign. As the home state of our presidential candidate, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, the expectations are understandably high, and we must rise to meet them. Our responsibility goes beyond securing victory; we must work to ensure that Anambra delivers a resounding mandate, reflected in the strength and number of valid votes cast for Mr. Peter Obi.”

He charged Anambra people to be in the forefront of states that will contribute the highest number of votes to Obi and also work toward securing victory for NDC candidates across the other elective positions in the state.

He said: “This task will not be accomplished by a few individuals or through political declarations alone. It requires organisation, genuine engagement, sacrifice, and the collective efforts of party faithful, stakeholders, community leaders, young people, women, and every Nigerian who believes that our country can do better.

“We must reach those who are undecided, those who feel left behind, those who have grown weary of the system, and those who have withdrawn from the electoral process because they no longer believe their votes can make a difference.

“We must listen to them, earn their confidence, and remind them that the future of our country is too important to be surrendered to apathy. The work has begun, and there is no room for complacency.

“We must take this campaign to the 21 LGAs, 326 Wards, 5,720 Polling Units, Markets, Churches and every household in Anambra state. Our objective is clear: to mobilise the people, secure their participation, and translate their aspirations into votes at the polls. We must also ensure that every valid vote counts and that the democratic process reflects the will of the people.

“To all Ndi Anambra and Nigerians who desire a new direction for our country, I extend an open invitation to join us. The task before us is demanding, but with unity and commitment we can make a difference. Anambra must rise to the occasion, Peter Obi must receive a resounding mandate, and together, we must work for a new Nigeria that delivers for its people.”
