Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has said that women and youths hold the essential key to driving meaningful development in Anambra State and Nigeria at large.
The governor stated this at the Anambra State Government House, Awka, while addressing the Women Coordinators of City Boy Movement (CBM), a political group supporting the reelection of President Bola Tinubu.
Soludo said his administration is intentionally focused on fostering greater participation of women and youths in government. He said the activities of the women’s wing of the group is impressive, and their activities have engendered active participation of women and youths in politics.
He urged the women to curate their future according to their vision, framing his efforts as a social crusade and a push for a legal framework aimed at re-engineering society toward a more prosperous future.
The Governor said the movement must operate with a clear understanding of their role in coordinating for Anambra State. He offered a sobering reflection, expressing his desire that Ndi Igbo avoid wasting their votes in future electoral cycles.
He said : “I urge you all as coordinators to mobilize resources and strategize effectively.
“In the previous election cycle, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured victory without significant support from the Southeast. I task you to mobilize effectively to ensure a successful second term for the President, and your objective in politics should be to maximize benefits for the society.
“I pledge my absolute and total support to the group, and I want to say that you have a significant role to play and I will back you initiatives to the best of my ability.”
Earlier, the Women Coordinator of the Anambra State Chapter of the group, Mrs. Adaora Soludo, emphasized that the movement’s primary objective remains the active promotion and support of the Tinubu-led administration, pointing out that the group is strategically positioned to serve as a bridge between the government and the people, ensuring that the administration’s developmental policies are understood and felt at the local level.
