Wife of the governor of Anambra State and founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, a non governmental organisation has celebrated individuals who donate blood.
Nonye Soludo who made a press release to mark World Blood Donor Day described individuals who go out to donate blood as selfless people.
She said this year’s commemoration is a reminder that a safe and sufficient blood supply depends on the willingness of healthy individuals to donate regularly.
The release read: “As we mark World Blood Donor Day, we celebrate selfless individuals who give a part of themselves to save the lives of others. Every unit of blood donated represents hope for patients facing medical emergencies, mothers during childbirth, accident victims, and individuals battling serious health conditions.
“Blood donation remains one of the simplest yet most powerful acts of compassion and humanity.
“This year’s commemoration is a reminder that a safe and sufficient blood supply depends on the willingness of healthy individuals to donate regularly. By giving blood, you not only help save lives but also strengthen our healthcare system and ensure that critical support is available when it’s needed most.
“Voluntary blood donors are true heroes whose generosity continues to make a difference in countless families and communities.
“As we remember this very important day, I encourage all eligible individuals to consider becoming regular blood donors. Together, we can build a culture of compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility for one another’s well-being.
“A single donation can save multiple lives, and there can be no greater gift than the gift of life,” she stated.
