The Anambra State Government through the State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Hon Ify Obinabo, has commended the apex Igbo women’s group, Okpotokpo Adaigbo Niile Worldwide (OANW), for what it described as the group’s human impactful vision of support to the less privileged, the vulnerable mothers and children in society.
Hon Ify Obinabo, who spoke when she received the executive and members of OANW, Onitsha Chapter in a courtesy call at her office in Awka, Anambra State, yesterday, Thursday, June 8, thanked Okpotokpo Adaigbo Niile Worldwide for according to her, assisting the state government in the job of care for the aged and the vulnerable.
OANW, Onitsha Chapter, was led on the courtesy visit by the coordinator, Hon Lady Chinelo Ezedimbu.
The Anambra State women Affairs Commissioner who also harped on proper family upbringing for the children and the youths, charged women to pay strict attention to their homes.
Obinabo stated that the current Anambra State Government has zero tolerance to crimes and as such ensured that the homes from where the youths came from were fixed so as not to bring forth “bad eggs”, who, she said, would corrupt the society.
‘The so called bad boys who cause harms on our society came from homes. If their homes were fixed, they won’t be causing menace on our society. Some children who felt they and their mothers were destroyed due to domestic violence, night decide to take it harsh on people they met in society. So there is need to fix the homes so that our society will be free from rascality and insecurity,’ the commissioner noted.
She warned that those who engaged in any form of rascality would be made to face the consequences.
