Enugwu-Agidi community protest against owner of Blue Shield, call him landgrabber

Enugu-Agidi Community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State have protested against the owner of Blue Shield security company, Ozo Jeff Nweke.

The protesters levelled series of allegations against him, including saying that he has been taking their land, harassing indigenes through his security operatives, including raping young women.

Members of the community, including elderly men and women and youths, numbering over 500 carried posters depicting their grouses.

Nweke a title chief is an indigene of Awka community, but the protesters said he has been encroaching into their land and intimidating them.

The protest is coming barely two days after indigenes Awka staged a peaceful protest with naked women to demand the immediate removal of Anambra CP, Aderemi Adeoye, saying that the command under his was aiding cult killings and other criminal activities in Awka, the state capital.

Spokesperson for the protesting Enugu-Agidi indigenes, Chief Peter Omekunsi, told Journalists the Awka protest was sponsored by Ozo Nweke to distract the police to enable him continue with his evil activities via the Blue Shield security outfit.

“As I speak to you, Ozo Nweke, has forcefully collected so many people’s land across neighboring communities of Enugu-Agidi and Nibo respectively.

“We are from Ifite, Achalla, Igbolo and Imoloieli villages all in Enugu-Agidi Community.

“We want the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, the State Police Commissioner, CP Adeoye Aderemi and Police to urgently intervene in the matter and get Ozo Nweke arrested for peace to reign in Anambra State.

The protesters were seen carrying placards with various inscription such as; Ozo Jeff Nweke stop shooting police officers, Anambra police will not fear you and your criminal gangs, police is to protect citizens, Awka is peaceful stop creating insecurity, Anambra police will not aide crime, stop land grabbing, Ozo Jeff Nweke stop killing police officers over Enugu-Agidi land, Ozo Nweke go and answer your charges in Court, among others.

When THE RAZOR reached Nweke on phone for reactions to the allegations against him, he pleaded to be given to to call back.

He said: “I’m away in Abuja, and right now I’m inside someone’s office, so it won’t be fair to be answering call here. Just give me time and I will call back.”

When this reporter opted to call him back in an hour’s time he said: “Don’t bother yourself calling, I will call you once I’m out of here.”

Over five hours letter, Nweke was yet to call back.
