An aide of the Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo on media, and National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr Ejimofor Opara has said that the party is happy with the governor’s performance in the state.
Ejimofor said the beauty of Soludo’s governance in Anambra is that he is performing, but the fact that he had not borrowed any money since he became governor in 2021.
The APGA Chief was probably speaking in view of the upcoming second anniversary of the governorship of Governor Soludo, and even which comes up on 17 March 2024.
Ejimofor in a release he shared to journalists took time to reel out several achievements of of the governor.
He said: “The beauty of Gov. Soludo’s two (2) years in office is not just the Massive employment of Teachers and Doctors, or the construction of over 400km of Urban and rural roads.
“It is not also the intentional development of Digital Infrastructure for the State. It is not about the conversion of 25,000 Diesel powered streetlights to solar, nor the activation of public water scheme in Okpoko, Onitsha and Awka.
“It is not about the training of 20,000 youths on digital skills, nor the clamp down on Agbero in Onitsha.
“I further argue that it is not about the restoration of security in eight local governments hitherto under the siege by criminals parading as “Unknown Gun Men” (UGM).
“It is certainly not about the free antenatal and delivery for pregnant women in the State. Neither is it about the reduction in the cost of governance.
“I celebrate Soludo’s two (2) years in office because he has done all these and more without borrowing a kobo. This is in spite of an existing approval from the Anambra State House of Assembly to borrow a hundred billion Naira.”
Soludo had during his first budget estimate presentation to the Anambra State House of Assembly been given approval to borrow N100billion, to actualize his drive for development in Anambra State.
Ejimofor stated that APGA will always celebrate Soludo for his prudent management of resources.
The governor had recently in a function stated that he would on 17 March give a comprehensive rundown is his administration’s achievements in two years in office.
