NBTE Officials Storm Federal Polytechnic Oko for Course Accreditation

A team of 38 officials from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and resource persons have stormed the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, for a course accreditation exercise.

The institution’s management, led by Rector Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, presented nine programmes for quality assurance, including ND Marketing, HND Hospitality Management, and HND Mechanical Engineering Technology, among others.

During the visit, Dr. Awuzie, represented by Deputy Rector Academic Dr. Uche Onyegbu, expressed the institution’s preparedness for the exercise and optimism about its success.

She highlighted the polytechnic’s good relationship with NBTE over the years and its 65 currently running programs.

The NBTE Director of Polytechnic Programs, Dr. Fatima Kabir Umar, represented by Bldr. Adesina Oluodo, assured that the visit was not punitive but aimed at assessing the institution’s facilities and offering advice.

The resource persons appreciated the improvements they saw during the exercise but pointed out areas needing attention.

The NBTE South East Zonal Director, Engr. Dr. Ngozi Okelekwe, praised the polytechnic’s facilities, particularly in the Hospitality Management department, and commended the management’s efforts in entrepreneurship.

She called for increased productivity in the area.
