Anambra South Senatorial by-election; Amamgbo emerges ADC candidate

The African Democratic Congress ADC on Saturday nominated Bar Donald Chidi Amamgbo as the candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District by election for August 16th 2025 .

Two other aspirants who had indicated interest for the ticket of the party stepped down for Amamgbo as he was nominated unopposed.

Non of the two aspirants of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA was at the ballot as the party turned down their request to contest under the platform of the party.

The primary election which was done through affirmation was on the account of a motion moved by the Orumba South local government party Chairman of Orumba South local government area Mr Ndukuba Chinedu and seconded by the Chairman of Ihiala local government area Chief Anene Chukwudi .

Speaking shortly after the nomination the state Chairman of the ADC Comerade Patrick Obianyo stated that the primary election was in line with the Constitution and guidelines of the party concerning the conduct of primary elections.

Also speaking the Board Of Trustees Chairman of the ADC Bar Godson Okoye noted that;

“This is the first election that our party the ADC is going into an election since after the Coalition and the entire Nigeria’ has come to embrace our party as the platform towards saving the future of our country” he said.

In his acceptance speech shortly after being nominated Bar Donald Chidi Amamgbo said .

“We shall storm Anambra South Senatorial District and we all know that representation is about the people and as a Senator I wish to assure you that the entire Anambra South Senatorial District would gain bountifully from my representation ” he said.
