Ejiofor Hails Bishop Ndubuisi Obi’s Transformative Leadership, Says Nnewi Diocese Is Setting New Standard

An Anambra State-born human rights lawyer and Lead Counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq., KSC, Dunu-Ezeugosinachi, has commended the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Nnewi, Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi Obi, for setting a new standard of episcopal leadership in the Diocese.

According to him, the Bishop’s remarkable strides since assuming office are not merely statistics to be recited, but visible footprints of vision, courage, discipline and purposeful stewardship.

In him, he said, the injunction of Scripture that “by their fruits ye shall know them” (Matthew 7:20) finds a particularly compelling expression.

Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor made the commendation after participating actively in the 2026 Synod of the Diocese of Nnewi.

Ejiofor said:“As a Standing Bishop Nominee at the Annual Synod of the Diocese of Nnewi, I have made it a point of Christian duty and obligation to honour the invitation to participate actively in every Synod session of the Diocese in the capacity herein stated.

“The theme of this year’s Synod, ‘Be Strong and of Good Courage,’ drawn from Joshua 1:9, represents a divine injunction to rise above fear, embrace courage and remain steadfast in the pursuit of faithful obedience and transformative leadership.
“Indeed, Scripture reminds us that ‘the hand of the diligent shall bear rule’ (Proverbs 12:24), and the unfolding story of Nnewi Diocese under the leadership of our Lord Bishop, Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi Obi, offers a compelling illustration of faith translated into purposeful action.”

The human rights lawyer said that, beyond the insightful teachings on overcoming adversity and the challenges of Christian living, one of the most remarkable highlights of this year’s Synod was the extraordinary account of transformation and development presented in the Bishop’s Address on September 5, 2026.

According to Ejiofor, the inventory of diversified investments and initiatives undertaken for the economic advancement, growth and sustainable development of the Church was remarkable.

He said:“From massive investments in agriculture, oil and gas, food security, education, manpower development and humanitarian services, to youth training and social interventions, the breadth and depth of these initiatives speak eloquently to a leadership driven not merely by ecclesiastical responsibilities, but by a profound understanding of the Church as an instrument for spiritual, social and economic transformation.”

He said Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi Obi had undoubtedly set a new standard of episcopal leadership in Nnewi Diocese, noting that his remarkable strides since assuming office were not merely statistics to be recited; they were visible footprints of vision, courage, discipline and purposeful stewardship.

He said the expanding reach of the Gospel under the Bishop’s watch was equally remarkable.

Ejiofor said a Catholic friend once drew his attention to his mother’s devoted participation in the Diocesan online prayers every morning, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday to Friday, faithfully anchored and conducted by the extraordinary Bishop.

According to him, his friend told him that his mother had become so deeply attached to the prayers that she specifically appealed to her child to ensure that they made meaningful contributions towards the success of the Synod.

“That simple but profound testimony demonstrates the extraordinary reach of the Bishop’s voice and ministry beyond denominational boundaries,” he added.

According to Ejiofor, Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi Obi is a blessing to the Diocese of Nnewi, and his episcopacy has ushered in monumental changes, expanded the frontiers of the Gospel across the length and breadth of the Diocese, and demonstrated that Christian leadership can be both spiritually grounded and practically transformative.

“As we celebrate the successful hosting of this year’s Synod at the now-Basilica of St. Mark’s Church, Nnewichi, we must also acknowledge the exceptional stewardship that has given the Diocese renewed visibility, vitality and purpose.
“As Scripture declares, ‘Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it’ (Psalm 127:1). The evident hand of God in this remarkable journey is therefore unmistakable.
“My Lord Bishop, your journey so far is a testimony to what vision, courage and divine grace can accomplish when placed in the service of God and humanity. May the Almighty God, who called and entrusted you with this sacred responsibility, continue to enlarge your coast, strengthen your hands and grant you uncommon wisdom for the greater tasks ahead.
“May God preserve you, your family and your ministry; replenish your strength daily; and grant you the grace to finish stronger than you began. May the Diocese of Nnewi continue to flourish under your stewardship, and may your episcopacy leave an enduring legacy of faith, transformation, service and practical Christianity.

“May the Lord continue to order your steps, crown your labour with greater fruits, and make your tenure an even more resounding testimony to His faithfulness.

“Congratulations, My Lord Bishop, on another remarkable Synod and on the extraordinary transformation taking place under your watch.
