As the newly sworn in Chairmen of the 21 local government areas of Anambra State settle down for business, the APGA candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the 2027 election, Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo (Onye Ndozi), has charged them and Councilors of the 327 wards in the state to see their new positions as an opportunity to prove their mettle and announce themselves to the world.
Nwankwo who made the charge in his congratulatory message to the newly inaugurated Local Government helmsmen across Anambra State, urged them to make purposeful action, responsive governance and grassroots development the hallmarks of their tenure.
Nwankwo, particularly congratulated the new Mayors from Anambra Central, urging them to seize the opportunity provided by their mandates to bring practical solutions and meaningful development closer to the people.
He said effective leadership at the grassroots required more than occupying office, stressing the need for responsiveness, purposeful action and a clear understanding of the everyday challenges confronting the people.
According to Nwankwo, the new Mayors have an important responsibility to translate their mandates into tangible benefits for residents of their respective local government areas.
He urged them to prioritise issues that directly affect their communities and pursue programmes and initiatives capable of improving the lives of the people.
The APGA senatorial candidate further charged the council leaders to justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate through purposeful leadership, responsive governance and visible grassroots development.
Nwankwo wished the new Mayors successful tenures and urged them to remain committed to serving the people and delivering on the expectations that accompanied their assumption of office.
