The National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, has criticised the founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chekwas Okorie, over his comments on Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s political position ahead of the 2027 general election.

Obigwe, in a statement issued on Sunday, accused Okorie of inconsistency, arguing that his political antecedents weakened his moral authority to criticise Soludo’s decision to support President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

He also dismissed Okorie’s suggestion that Soludo was fighting former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi because of his support for Tinubu, describing the allegation as unfounded.

Obigwe recalled the controversy surrounding Okorie’s removal as APGA national chairman, alleging that the party’s leadership crisis was linked to claims that Okorie had been persuaded to abandon a legal battle over Obi’s alleged stolen electoral mandate.

According to him, the controversy, which involved Victor Umeh, then a prominent figure in the party, remains part of Okorie’s political history and should inform his current criticisms of Soludo.

The APGA chieftain argued that Soludo’s decision to support Tinubu’s re-election bid was not inconsistent with the party’s political history, recalling that Obi, while serving as Anambra governor, supported the re-election of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

He questioned why Okorie did not raise similar objections when Obi backed Jonathan’s re-election campaign.

Obigwe further maintained that Soludo, as APGA’s national leader, enjoyed the support of the party’s faithful in his decision to align with Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

“Wherever Governor Soludo stands is where we will stand,” Obigwe declared, reaffirming the forum’s commitment to supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid and other APGA candidates in Anambra State in 2027.

He accused Okorie of seeking political relevance through his criticisms of Soludo and urged Nigerians to disregard what he described as repetitive attacks on the governor.
