Anambra Assembly Lawmakers Abandon Duty over 2023

Legislation

From all indications, there seems to be trouble in Anambra legislature as lawmakers depict nonchalance towards their constitutional primary responsibility of legislation.

Recently, plenary which naturally should begin officially at 10 am prompt, sometimes begin as late as 5:45 pm with an infinitesimal membership in attendance.

On Tuesday this week, the House which was presided over by the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon.Dr. Paschal Agbodike was adjourned abruptly due to the inability of the legislature to form a quorum for plenary.

Onyebuchi Augustine Ofor of Ekwusigo state constituency who observed that the House could not proceed without a quorum, expressed concern that attendance was abysmally poor hence the need for adjournment till Thursday 10th February, 2022.

THE RAZOR NEWS gathered that the lawmakers now care less about their functions as 2023 approach.

A source said:”They have all moved to their communities, which they abandoned many years ago, because it is time to get close to the people and ensure you get reelected.
