Anambra Monarchs to Honour Obiano for Performance

Monarchs of Anambra central senatorial zone will on June 16 bestow a chieftaincy title on the Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano.

The chairman of Anambra central traditional rulers forum, Igwe Emeka Ilouno in a joint press briefing with six other monarchs representing the seven local government areas of the zone said the conferment is in recognition of his performance in the state, which he described as sterling.
The monarchs listed the areas where Chief Obiano has performed well as; security, infrastructure, agriculture, economic growth and empowerment, prompt payment of workers salaries and development of the rural communities.
“We have never witnessed such before, and we think it is noteworthy that we confer a chieftaincy title on him to recognise his good works.
“Former governor, Mr Peter Obi promised us he would give us a hardworking governor, and with what we have seen with Obiano, we are not in doubt that Obi did as he promised, because Obiano has over shoot our expectations.
“Anambra has been blessed with achievement oriented governors, from Peter Obi to Willie Obiano and we are happy with them,” he said.
The monarchs promised to make the day a colourful one with masquerades and dance groups that will make it memorable for those who attend.
