Anambra Police receives three CPs, AIG on election duties

Anambra State Police Command has received three commissioners of police, and an Assistant Inspector General of Police in the state ahead of Saturday’s election.

The state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga who stated this in a press release said the officers were received by the state police commissioner, CP Echeng Echeng.

He hinted that as part of the command’s preparation, the command has released the phone contact of strategic commanders , and those of the control/situation room to help checkmate .

Ikenga said: “Anambra State Police Command today 22/2/2023 received the newly deployed Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Eboka Friday, and three Commissioners of Police posted to Zone 13 headquarters, Ukpo

“The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Eboka Friday before his posting as the election supervisor of zone 13, comprising of Anambra and Enugu Command, was the AIG in charge of Zone 16.

“He shall supervise the three Commissioners of Police deployed to the three senatorial districts of the state including the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command, CP Echeng Echeng for the 2023 General Elections.”

The Commissioners deployed to the state include: DCP Yusuf .A. Apaje for Anambra North, CP Julius .A. Okoro, for Anambra South and CP Selem .V. Amachere* for Anambra Central.

The command also shared the contact of all the officers.

Ikenga quoted the command as urging the people of the State to come out en masse to exercise their franchise and vote for candidates of their choice, as adequate deployments have been made to ensure that elections are peaceful, hitch-free and secured.
