Anambra to Witness Massive Road Construction After Rains – Obiano

The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, says his administration has performed well enough to motivate Ndi Anambra to vote in APGA candidate in the fourth coming gubernatorial election in the state.

 

Governor Obiano stated this at the Governor’s lodge, Amawbia, during an interactive session with members of Nigeria Union of Journalists Anambra state council and members of Radio, Television, Theater Arts Workers union from the South East zone, after a tour of Anambra International Cargo Airport, Umueri and International Convention Center Awka.

 

According to Governor Obiano, apart from doing eighteen bridges, one hundred and nine roads completed, one hundred and seventy-seven roads on going, he did not borrow any money to construct both the airport and International Convention Center and all within fifteen months.

 

Governor Obiano announced that as soon as the rains stop, massive maintenance of roads in the state especially those constructed by the previous administration will commence.

 

He regretted that internal roads in Anambra are destroyed by heavy trucks which divert to state internal roads because of the deplorable condition of the expressway.

 

The Governor also pointed out that the habit of blocking the drains with debris is also responsible for the bad condition of many roads calling for a change of attitude by residents of the state.
