Constituents of Senator Victor Umeh (OFR), representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, have praised the lawmaker for what they described as his consistent commitment to their welfare as he extended the second phase of his 2026 Agricultural Input Empowerment Programme to farmers in Anaocha Local Government Area.
The programme, held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church Podium, Adazi-Nnukwu, saw hundreds of farmers receive agricultural inputs aimed at increasing food production, improving rural livelihoods and strengthening food security across the senatorial district.
The beneficiaries and community stakeholders commended the senator for sustaining his empowerment programmes despite prevailing economic challenges, describing the intervention as timely in view of rising production costs confronting farmers.
They also lauded Umeh’s performance in the Senate, citing his contributions to national debates, the award of scholarships to 332 students, employment opportunities attracted to the district and various constituency projects as evidence of effective and people-oriented representation.
Speaking during the distribution, Senator Umeh urged the beneficiaries to put the farm inputs to productive use in order to increase crop yields and contribute to food sufficiency in Anambra State and Nigeria.
He described agriculture as one of the most effective means of tackling food insecurity, creating employment and improving household incomes, assuring the people that he would continue to attract programmes and projects that would positively impact communities across Anambra Central.
Umeh also thanked the people of Anaocha for their continued support and urged them to sustain their backing for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He expressed confidence that the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, possess the leadership qualities required to reposition Nigeria.
The event was attended by the senator’s wife, Lady Prisca Umeh; the Anambra State NDC Woman Leader, Dr. Princess Grace; the Anaocha Local Government NDC Chairman, Chief Anayo Nnabugwu; former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Anaocha I Constituency, Hon. Ebele Ejiofor; party officials, community leaders and representatives of the political wards in the local government area.
The Agricultural Input Empowerment Programme is part of Senator Umeh’s constituency intervention designed to boost agricultural productivity, promote rural economic development and improve the livelihoods of farmers across the seven local government areas of Anambra Central Senatorial District.
