Borrow President Jonathan’s Youth empowerment programmes, Ezeemo advices Buhari

President-Elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has been advised to borrow the youth empowerment programmes of the President Goodluck Jonathan government when he becomes the president later this month.

 
Chief GoodwinEzeemo,a philanthropist and publisher of Anambra based, Orient Daily Newspaper made the appeal on in Awka when he spoke to youths of Southeast Geopolitical zone under auspices of Nigeria Youth Volunteer Service (NYVS), in a conference entitled “Nigeria South-East Youth; The Way Forward” yesterday.
He appealed to  the incoming administration to invest more on youth development and empowerment in order to create a crime free  society .
 
He lamented that youths have been schemed out of the socio-economic and political aspect of the country for long, and called for a caution, so as to move Nigeria forward.
 
Represented by Mr Churchill Okonkwo, said that he relocated most of his economic investment to Igbo land to contribute his quota towards creating jobs for the youths.
 
He said that his business especially was at his rural community Umuchu Aguata Local Government Area to impact lives positively  at the grassroots through massive employment and quality service delivery.
 
 He  called on Igbo’s of political class, captain of industries, among other stakeholders to join force in restructuring the ethical standard and values of Igbo nation through creation of employment, trainings and empowerment of youths. 

The Anambra State Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Elder Chris Eluemuno, represented by the Wing Commander (Rtd), Afam Ayika charged youths to remain focused and ever determined to achieving their visions in life.
 
Earlier speaking, Mrs  Ruth Okeke, the Anambra State Volunteer Superintendent, who represented other officials in the Igbo speaking states, reiterated the needs for people of the zone to look inwards and marshal out workable plans,
 

She said that pragmatic and realistic steps for the emancipation and engagement of leaders of tomorrow, because according to her, future posterity of nations is secured through youths.
