BREAKING: Gunmen attack Anambra LG headquarters

Gunmen on Friday attacked Ogbaru Local Government Area secretariat, destroying some buildings and other properties.

Sources told THE RAZOR that the gunmen arrived in their numbers and opened fire, destroying buildings within the headquarters of the council area.

It was gathered that no life was lost in the incident.

Though details of the attack is still sketchy as at the time of filing this report, but police authorities have confirmed it.

State police public relations officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said: “The attack was on Ogbaru LGA in the early hours of today 30/8/2024.

“Security operatives gallantly resisted the gunmen, but some LGA properties were destroyed, some buildings were also affected, but no life was lost.”

He said a joint security operation was ongoing in the area presently.

It would not be the first time Ogbaru Local Government headquarters would be attacked by gunmen.

An attack on the secretariat previously had left building and cars within the oremises burnt. It is not clear who the attackers are, but fingers have always pointed at secessionists elements.
