Brutalization: Mgbilimgba may not walk again

News

Honourable Wilfred Ikechukwu Ezike popular known as Mgbiligba Anambra, says it will take the grace of God for him to walk again with his two legs due to the barbaric treatment he suffered in the hands of the anti-tout boys who made a video of him while they hit his head, hands, legs and entire body with pestle.

Ezike, whose viral video of his molestation and assault by the Anambra Anti-Touting Squad had generated widespread public concern, had said in previous interviews that he could not comprehend the grand conspiracy to terminate his life because he revealed that some dreaded government officials in the present administration had blatantly refused to pay him the N12 million they owed him.

Mgbiligba who spoke with our correspondent at Orthopedic hospital Enugu on 26th March 2024 amidst excruciating pains even as he struggled with his crutches, appealed to Human Rights Organisations, the Nigeria Police and other constituted authorities to wade into the matter because his life is no longer safe.

Mgbiligba said his only offence was that he demanded his money and some government officials framed him up using Anambra Anti-Touting Squad to dehumanise him and thereafter compelled him to take an oath that what they did to him would forever remain secret.

Ezike, who told our correspondent that it is costing him millions of naira to have his legs back, said the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has abandoned him to his predicaments because no government official, according to him, has visited or called him on the phone to sympathize with him over the terror and mayhem unleashed on him by the Anambra Anti-Touting Squad.

He said Valentine Ozigbo visited him at the hospital in Onitsha to sympathize with him. Ezike also disclosed that a former two-time member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo, visited him and gave him some financial assistance to ensure that he went to Orthopedic hospital Enugu for advanced medical attention.

Ezike, who was apparently emotionally downcast, said all the allegations of touting heaped against him were all lies from the abyss as he was prepared to prove his innocence.

He also disclosed that allegations of petitions and counter petitions levelled against him were baseless and unfounded because he has no hands in them.

Mgbiligba, who is a contractor with the Anambra State Government and a card-carrying member of the APGA, said all he was asking was for his N12 million to be paid because it was his legitimate money and refused to be swindled by some unscrupulous government officials.
