~ Says, there’s no perfect society anywhere

Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, says the sacrifices made by people like late Moshood Abiola and others for Democracy, should not be taken for granted in the Country.

The former Central Bank of Nigeria CBN Governor, says there’s no place in the world where you have perfect Society.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Chris Aburime Sunday to The Razor, Soludo spoke at the Anambra State Governor’s lodge Sunday in Amawbia, during a special Mass to mark Nigeria’s June 12 Democracy Day

He said, democracy all over the world was a continuous struggle towards a better society.

The Governor, hinted that nation building was a consequence of struggle for class, social or otherwise.

He said, that values such as focus, determination and perseverance were indispensable in such kind of struggle.

According to Soludo, “There is no perfect society anywhere in the world, accounting for various contestations and contradictions, however, they bring out the best in the society.”

He pointed out that for Ndi Anambra, it was a struggle to build a liveable and prosperous homeland, where everybody had very fundamental role to play.

The Governor further recalled that bonding together, Nigeria consistently struggled against dictatorship during which many people even paid the ultimate price.

He stressed that the sacrifices by the late MKO Abiola and others, in the course of the struggle that gave rise to the Democracy Day celebration would not be taken for granted.
