The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone13, Ukpo, Mr. Abutu Yaro, has warned criminals to disappear from the zone immediately.
Yaro who is feared for his exploits against crime and criminality, also warned all officers within the zone to desist from extorting members of the public who run to them for assistance.
He charged the Commissioners of Police in Anambra and Enugu States to always exhibit professionalism and supervise the activities of their subordinates.
The AIG stated this when the Commissioners of Police of the two commands and Commanders of tactical teams in the zone paid him a courtesy visit at the zonal headquarters, Ukpo to familiarise with him after he assumed duty a few days ago.
In a statement by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nkiruka Nwode, the AIG charged the two Commissioners of police to ensure proper supervision of officers and men, especially during the yuletide and electioneering periods.
According to the release, the AIG used the opportunity to warn all criminal elements terrorising the zone to leave the states( Anambra and Enugu) as he would live no stone unturned to fish them out.
He charged officers and of the zone to work with integrity, avoid abuse of power and create enabling environment for members of the public to see the police as their friend..
