Prominent businessman and oil magnate, Prince Arthur Eze, has distanced himself from reports linking him to the endorsement of any candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the race for the Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency seat, describing such claims as false, misleading and politically motivated.

In a statement personally signed on Thursday, Prince Eze dismissed a publication alleging that an “Arthur Eze-backed candidate” was being tipped for the NDC ticket in the constituency, insisting that he had neither endorsed nor authorized support for any candidate under the platform of the party.

“My attention has been drawn to a publication titled ‘BREAKING: Arthur Eze-Backed Candidate Tipped for NDC Ticket in Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Race,’ and I deem it necessary to set the records straight,” he stated.

The billionaire philanthropist said any individual or group claiming that he was sponsoring or backing an NDC candidate was deliberately attempting to mislead the public and create unnecessary political confusion.

“I wish to state categorically and without any ambiguity that I have not endorsed any candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), nor have I authorized anyone to make such claims on my behalf,” Eze said.

Reaffirming his political affiliations, Eze declared his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, as well as Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

According to him, his support for the President and the Anambra governor remains unquestionable, noting that APGA continues to be the political platform driving development and progress in the state.

“My political position is clear and well known. I am a supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda. I am equally a strong supporter of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and his visionary leadership in Anambra State under the platform of APGA,” he said.

The oil magnate further stressed that he remained committed to supporting APGA candidates and leaders who are focused on advancing the welfare and prosperity of the people of Anambra State.
While noting that he maintains cordial relationships with progressive-minded leaders across the country, Eze said his priority remains supporting leaders who are delivering tangible results and promoting national unity, peace and development.

He therefore urged members of the public to disregard reports suggesting that he had endorsed any NDC candidate in the Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency or elsewhere, describing such claims as mere fabrications intended to distract from substantive political discourse.

As political activities ahead of future elections gather momentum, Eze called on political actors, supporters and media practitioners to uphold truth, responsibility and fairness in public communication.

He emphasized that political contests should be driven by issues, performance and service to the people rather than by what he described as fabricated endorsements and unfounded speculations.

The statement is expected to shape political conversations within the Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency, where consultations and permutations ahead of future electoral contests have continued to intensify.
