The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has said that the chairman of the United Nigeria Airlines, Prof Obiora Okonkwo, cannot be the governor of Anambra State by deceit and treachery.

APGA said there was no agreement anywhere where Catholic priests in the state endorsed Okonkwo as the next governor of the state after the tenure of the incumbent governor , Prof Chukwuma Soludo as being propagated by Okonkwo.

The National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, said these in a statement he circulated on Wednesday.

He said it was a grand deceit and lie against the priests and people of the state for Okonkwo to make such claim and propagate the falsehood to deceive the public.

He called on the people of the state not to allow themselves to be hoodwinked by such deliberate misrepresentation.

Obigwe alleged that as Okonkwo was allegedly lying against the priests so also he is spreading falsehood against the performance of the Prof Soludo-led administration.

“As he is blackmailing Governor Soludo, he is also blackmailing Anambra Catholic Priests because both him and Uloka Chuks are deceiving people by claiming that the priests promised him that after Governor Soludo tenure that he will be the next Governor of Anambra State.Such claim is aimed at hoodwinking the general public but it will not work for them,”Obigwe stated.

Recall that recently Okonkwo had rated the administration of Soludo low in performance, saying that poverty and agony had multiplied in the state under Soludo, adding that Soludo’s reelection was doubtful.
Okonkwo said: “I’ve not seen anything exciting on the side of Soludo that will warrant people to root for his second term.

“My rating of Soludo is not that of great score. I have known Soludo for a long time and he is my good friend. I have every reason to conclude from what I have seen that Soludo has not lived up to expectation.

“He promised to turn Anambra to Dubai, Taiwan and New York. We have not seen that. For someone who has been a CBN governor, his performance is below the benchmark. It is surprising that someone who has attained that height would go about the generation of revenues through excessive taxes.

“In this modern age and time, it is of great concern. The situation is so bad and many people are losing excitement in going home this Christmas. The insecurity in Anambra is bad.”

But replying Okonkwo, Obigwe said, “Governor Soludo will clinch a well deserved second term mandate and after the completion of his second term, Ndi Anambra will vote for another selfless leader like him to emerge as his successor and not a desperado like Obiora Okonkwo that has nothing to offer them.

“I’m truly not surprised with Obiora Okonkwo senseless ranting against Governor Soludo because I know that he is an impatient desperado.

“The undisputed fact remains that Obiora Okonkwo spoke like a blind man and that he is wasting his time.

“My reason for saying this is because Governor Soludo good works in Anambra are not hidden.
It’s only desperados like Obiora Okonkwo that want to become governor by any dirty means possible that will feign ignorance of Governor Soludo good works in Anambra State.

“Ndi Anambra cannot be fooled with their cooked up lies against Governor Soludo.

“My happiness is that my revelation made Obiora Okonkwo that is the masquerade behind Chuks Uloka blackmail of Governor Soludo to personally use his own hands to unmask himself in a recent interview he granted journalist.

“The recent cock and bull story of Obiora Okonkwo against Governor Soludo in his interview with journalist in Abuja is exactly the same cock and bull story of Chuks Uloka that is his dirty hatchet job executor and that is the reason sane minds will not take them serious.

“I will tell Obiora Okonkwo to remain blind from seeing Governor Soludo verifiable achievements in Anambra State but as for the majority of Ndi Anambra, they are not blind hence the reason the will continue testifying about the good work of the governor.”
