Anambra NBA branch Chairmen laud govt, AG over strides in justice sector

The branch chairmen of the Nigeria Bar Association ( NBA), Anambra State, led by Sir David Ifeanyi, have applauded the state government for revamping the justice delivery sector.

The lawyers stated this during a courtesy visit to the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof Sylvia Chika Ifemeje in her office.

During an interactive session, the NBA leaders applauded the Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo-led administration for the giant strides it had made within one year in office in revamping the Anambra State Justice Service Sector.

Some of the achievements, according to the Attorney-General include; deployment of virtual hearing facilities in the four Correctional Centres in the state and in the High courts .

The AG said the purpose was to enhance expeditious dispensation of justice in criminal cases in line with Mr Governor’s manifesto promise.

Other achievements according to Prof Ifemeje were: installation of solar system in all the High Courts in the state;approval and commencement of full automation of the Judiciary and the Ministry of Justice and general improvement of the working conditions of the judges in order to enhance their productivity and other salient achievements.

Speaking, the NBA Chairmen hailed the giant strides of the government and urged it to put up more infrastructures for the judiciary.

The NBA leaders also solicited government’s sponsorship of their members in the forthcoming 2023 bar conference.

They equally pleaded for the donation of buses to the NBA branches by the state government.

Sir David Ifeanyi, Dame Nkoli Ashara,Victor Ezeonwumere, Bona Oraekwe Ugochukwu Okoli and I. C. Nsofor Ihiala .
