The National coordinator of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, has dispelled insinuations in some quarters that the visit of the Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, to Olumbanasa in the Anambra West Local Government Area was politically motivated.

Describing the governor’s visit to the seemingly forgotten Anambra community as altruistic, Obigwe said, ” “Governor Soludo visit to Olumbanasa was not for the fun of it and it has nothing to do with politics.”

Obigwe stated this in a statement made available to our correspondent on Monday in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

He said,”People have watched videos of Governor Soludo’s visit to Olumbanasa, a forgotten community in Anambra west local government area of Anambra State and its importance for them to know that it has nothing to do with politics.

“Governor Soludo is a man that does things for the good of the masses. He does not do things just to play politics.

”This is why he does not shy away from telling people that he is not a typical Nigerian politician. You can only see our politicians ride in a keke napep or Okada during campaign period but such cannot be associated with Governor Soludo.

OBIGWE’S STATEMENT READS:

Watching Governor Soludo rode on a boat for an hour plus to Olumbanasa has nothing to do with politics. He went there for a serious assignment that has to do with the signing of a peace accord between the warring communities of Alla, Onu-gwa and Odekpe.

The fact remains that to bring everlasting peace to these warring communities, Governor Soludo decided to put his life on the line for them by being physically present to witness the signing of the peace accord.

Another thing is that Governor Soludo is a man that loves seeing things by himself hence his reason for deciding to go personally and see with his two eyes the condition of the displaced people of Alla and Onu-gwa communities.

It is on record no Governor since the history of Anambra State creation deemed it necessary to pay a visit to this warring communities. What most Governors would have done is to send a representative to visit them.

Governor Soludo embarked on the peace mission in company of Bishop Denis isiuzor and some of his appointees.
The displaced people of Alla presented their demands to the Governor and he promised to do it for them to enable them return to their father land.

What Governor Soludo showed to the World with his visit to the aforementioned warring communities is that he can go to any length to bring peace and transformation to the nook and crannies of Anambra State.

He promised to build Holding camps for the displaced people of Alla and Onu-gwa to enable them return to their father land.He also promised to build Health centre , school and place of worship for them.

He further promised to provide water and solar energy powered electricity for them. Governor Soludo promise can be likened to an open cheque and what I mean by this is that he cannot be associated with promise and fail.

He will fulfil the promise he made to the warring communities of Olumbanasa.
Most importantly, he told them about the importance of peaceful coexistence and living in harmony.

Governor Soludo is truly living up to the expectation of ndi Anambra that nicknamed him the solution provider Governor. He is obviously proffering solution to virtually all the problems facing the people of Anambra.

This is the hallmark of a good leader.
For me, I see Governor Soludo as a blessing to Ndi Anambra and that is the way majority of Ndi Anambra are seeing him.
