Bishop Ezeokafor Calls for Exemption of Aged Women from Church Levies

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus C. Ezeokafor has called for the exemption of women above 80 years from church levies.

The Bishop made the call while delivering his homily during the 2022 Chrism Mass/Cathedraticum at the Catholic Cathedral in Awka, Anambra State.

The Bishop said only voluntary donations by such persons should be tolerated.

He said: “Any woman above 80 years should be exempted from all forms of levy except voluntary donations in the church.”

Bishop Ezeokafor is known for his humanitarian gestures, especially to aged and less privileged in the society and has consistently held parties during festive periods for people in the category, and also given out food items to them.

Meanwhile, the Bishop was hailed by lots of Catholic faithful for the call.
