OCHA Brigade seals Tomato Market Obosi

News

Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, has sealed off the popular Tomato Market, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

This follows the recent directive of the state government to relocate the market to a new site at Power Mike, Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area.

Addressing the market leadership shortly after sealing the market, the Managing Director of OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere said the state government is relocating the market because it is now overcrowded and has provided a better and conducive site for the traders to transact and do their businesses.

Comrade Anere, also, registered his displeasure with the response of the market leadership who had earlier attacked the men of the brigade which resulted to different degrees of injuries, but thanked God that no life was lost.

He wondered how a tomato trader will employ hoodlums with cutlasses to fight the decision of the state government and insisted that no matter the propaganda, the directive of the state government will be carried out to the latter as no amount of antics can subdue them from delivering mandate.

According to the OCHA Brigade boss, the market was given notice of relocation and evacuation more than a month ago following constant traffic congestion along the area and robberies, saying that these ruin the aesthetics of the state and encouraged them to be law abiding citizens and comply with the directive of the state government.
