The Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Policing, Prince Ken Emeakayi, has directed Agunechemba, Anambra’s local security outfit, to commence 24-hour surveillance across the state.

The directive, disclosed in a statement issued by Agunechemba’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Mr. Nweke Nweke, follows a wave of unverified voice notes and conflicting security alerts circulating on social media.

According to the statement, operatives will intensify monitoring in identified hotspots and areas frequently exploited by criminal elements.

Emeakayi emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between local and federal security agencies to prevent crime before it occurs.

He dismissed the trending voice notes as baseless and urged residents not to panic over unverified social media claims.

He also warned individuals spreading false threats that security operatives would trace and investigate the sources of such messages.

“Agunechemba has been mandated to work with federal agencies to dismantle crime hotspots. Ndi Anambra can celebrate the Yuletide without fear,” he assured.

Emeakayi encouraged Anambra indigenes in the diaspora to return home for Christmas and New Year festivities, noting that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place.

He added that areas once controlled by criminal elements have been reclaimed, warning that “it is extremely risky for any wrongdoer to attempt harassment or kidnapping in Anambra State.”
