Police arrest three in Anambra for stealing SUV

Police in Anambra State have arrested three young men for stealing a Lexus 330 Sports Utility Vehicle.

The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said in a press release that the men were intercepted in Awka on Wednesday.

He said: “Operatives of the Special Anti Cultism Squad Enugwu Ukwu while on patrol in the morning of 15th January 2025 intercepted three Occupants of a black-coloured Lexus 330 SUV without a plate number at Kwata junction, Awka.

“During interrogation by the Operatives, the suspects: Ifesinachi Okonwko ‘M’ aged 22 years, Chisom Okafor ‘M’ aged 20 years and Oderah Ebenezer ‘M’ aged 20 years* respectively confessed to having stolen the car at Isuaniocha Village, Awka North.”

He added that the men confessed to be members of the same criminal gang, and have been terrorizing innocent citizens in Awka.

He called on members of the public looking for their vehicle which matches the specifications given above to come for identification and collection of the vehicle.
