Demolition: Acting as Igbo Party, APGA Nat’l Chair Consoles Alaba Traders

Following the demolition of buildings in Alaba International Market, which is predominantly occupied by Igbo traders, the National Chair of APGA, Barr Sylvester Ezeokenwa has consoled traders in the market.

The visit to the market was seen by many, as a way to represent the interest of Igbo people, especially as the party is deemed to be an Igbo party.

THE RAZOR gathered that the national chairman who sympathized with the traders insisted that the visit was not for political reasons.

APGA NATIONAL CHAIRMAN VISITS ALABA INTERNATIONAL MARKET

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa Jr. in the company of the Party Chairman in Lagos State Hon. ThankGod Ibeh pays an empathy visit to Traders in Alaba International Market, today 22nd June, 2023.

The visit to the International Market, which is predominantly comprised of Igbo traders, was to see, assess and sympathize with the Traders and other Stakeholders of the market section on the ongoing demolition of some sections of the market by Government Authority in the State as gathered.

In his welcome address, the PG of the section welcomed the National Chairman and his entourage and narrated the whole scenario that has so far transpired, he as well took the National Chairman round the entire demolition site.

In his address the APGA National Chairman empathized with the Traders of the affected section of the market and stated clearly that his visit is not political and should not be tagged as one. Stating that there are Members of other political Parties too who have stakes in the affected section under demolition. As such, Mr. Ezeokenwa stated that his visit was borne out of a deep understanding of our shared humanity. Thus, he deemed it fit to pay them a deserving visit of brotherhood, in line with APGA’s motto.

He urged the affected traders to be patient and law abiding irrespective of the situation and assured them of
giving possible assistance where applicable as the matter progresses.
