Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has praised wives of Nigeria police officers, saying they are more patriotic than many think.
Soludo stated this while receiving the wife of the Inspector General of Police, Hajiya Hajara Usman Alkali Baba, who was on a working visit to the state.
Soludo said he was particular about their faith in Nigeria, despite the fact that the lives of their husbands are not guaranteed, everyday they leave the house to serve the country.
The governor while receiving Hajiya Baba said: “There is a lot to learn from the psychology of Police Officers Wives. Much as life itself is very much uncertain, the degree of uncertainty that a Police Officer would leave his family and come back unhurt is very much higher.
“How these women live with this degree of uncertainty can only be explained by patriotism.”
President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), and wife of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Hajiya Hajara Usman Alkali Baba was in Anambra State with other members of the POWA National Executive on a routine humanitarian tour.
Mrs Baba who spoke to members of POWA outlined her threefold focus for the Association. She listed it to include; health, welfare, and education of police officers’ wives and children.
