The Umuanuta Uruoji Peoples Assembly in Uruoji Village in Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, has taken a swipe at two writers, Chukwudi Nwokoye and Charles Chizoba Chukwurah, describing them as authors of confusion and mischief.

The two authors had written a book titled “Omenana na Odinana Nri: ALL THE VILLAGES AND KINDREDS IN NRI, which was noted to be patently faulty aimed at stoking crisis.

The people expressed disappointment in the ignorance of the authors for conspicuously and mischievously not mentioning Umuanuta kindred of Uruoji village Nri as a kindred of Uruoji village with the extent to rubble- rouse the already existing problems in the village and Nri community in general that is being managed for peaceful resolutions.

This was contained in a statement by the Umuanuta Uruoji Peoples Assembly in Uruoji Village – Nri .

The statement was signed by the Chairman, Umuanuta kindred, Uruoji village Nri, John Jideobi, Secretary, Emma Nwonwu,Umuanuta kindred, Uruoji village Nri, and copied to:The President General Nri Progressive Union ( NPU),Chairman
Nze na Ozo Nri,Oba Mmaduka Arubaluezeama,Okwodolu Eze Nri”

The group’s statement read in part,””Our attention has been drawn to the above subject published in page 155 to 164 of OMENANA NA ODINANA NRI written by one Chukwudi Nwokoye and one Charles Chizoba Chukwurah as co-authors in which Umuanuta Kindred of Uruoji village Nri was conspicuously and mischievously not mentioned as a Kindred of Uruoji village with the extent to rubble-rouse the already existing problems in the village and Nri community in general that is being managed for peaceful resolutions.

“The Umuanuta Kindred of Uruoji village Nri therefore wish to clearly and unequivocally express our disappointment in the ignorance of the authors of the book here above mentioned and we hereby resolve to state our position on the matter as follow;
1. That Nri town so far has six villages which are:
i. Agbadana Village
ii. Uruoji Village
iii. Obeagu Village
iv. Uruofolo Village
v. Diodo Village
vi. Ekwenaanyika village
2. That the four Kindred’ that make up Uruoji village are:
i. Umuanuta Kindred
ii. Umuesona Kindred
iii. Umunriomalo kindred
iv. Umunrievuzo kindred

“We would not like to go into the controversies and ridiculousprocedural errors and fiasco that surrounded the purported Anuta creation since the matter is with a court of competent jurisdiction to avoid any act of contempt of the court until judgment on the matter is given.

“Of course the Authors agreed in pages Twenty four and twenty five of the book that there are three villages in Agukwu section of Nri when they stated that there are two Ogwemuo units in Agukwu section (Ogwemuo one and Ogwemuo two) for easy administration of Ichi ozo in Nri in which case only Agbadana village, Obeagu village and Uruoji village kindreds made up the two Ogwe Muo.

“Now in which Ogwe Muo does the so called Anuta village belong. This is to further expose their mischief and mission to set confusion in the town. But those who stir up the spring will themselves drink the dirty water.

“The Umuanuta kindred of Uruoji village Nri therefore wish to disassociate ourselves from the spurious publication as it is misleading, misinforming and grossly ill-intended.”
