Uke community thanks Soludo for bridge, road projects

Project/Community news

Uke community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State has thanked the Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for the construction of some important road projects in the community.

The leadership of the community, including the Igwe and President General, Igwe Charles Chuma Agbata and Chief Peter Chibuike Onyejegbu respectively led other community members last week to inspect the roads, which also included a bridge.

The community thanked the governor for the completion of the Uke-Nnobi-Mmili Obiaja bridge project in the community, saying it is timely.

The monarch, Agbala said: “We have come here as a community to appreciate the good work that the governor is doing on our roads that lead to Idemili South Local Government Area.

“It is very important to us and we are so happy. By layman’s judgement, this bridge is already 80 percent completed. This place used to be den of robbers, and as you slowed down to maneuver through the road, they pounce on you, but today, that is a thing of the past.”

On his part, the president general said: “People have suffered a lot on this road. Sometimes ago, the road cut into two parts, but we are happy that at this point in time, the governor remembered us and decided to work on this road. We are happy about this and we pray God to bless the Governor and his administration.”
