NUJ Holds Indoor Games, Task Journalists on exercise for healthy living

Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ)Anambra Council, Dr Emeka Odogwu has called on Journalists to engage in daily physical exercise to gain healthy living.
Odogwu stated this while declaring open NUJ, Anambra Council 2023 indoor games in Awka on Thursday.
He said that the benefits of daily physical exercise in human development is unfathomable and appeal to Journalists to create time to exercise.
Odogwu was represented by Mr Ogemdi Ozoemenam, the council Treasure as he was unavoidable absent.
He urged members of the council to engage both in open and indoor games to increase productivity and creativity in the manner of their reportage.
Mrs Ify Obi, General Manager Unizik FM,chairman of the committee,urged members to take the exercise seriously so as to gain the benefits of the games in their body and mental balance.
Obi listed the games to be enageged in to include, Push up, ludo, whot, scribbles, swell, draught, amongst others.
Dr Nelson Omenugha, the chairman of the occassioning commended the council for their initiatives and described the program as a great innovation.
Omenuagha who is the Senior Adviser to Gov.Charles Soludo on Youth programmes and empowerment said that his office will partner with NUJ for youth development on exercise.
“We will create games unit to partner with the council to ensure sustenance of the great innovation by the council.
Mazi Ogbonna Chibueze, Director of Sports Uniziks,who came as adviser urged journalists to take seriously exercise activities.
Chibueze said that exercise either indoor or outdoor is very beneficial to the people who particitate in it.
He said that exercise is a sound fun planned to build up mental balance for people and journalists should take it serous.
Newsmen reports that participants did their best in the various games and the outcome is as follows Scribbles game first position is Uchenna Ezeadigwe, second Eloka Igboegwu, Ifeanyi Ndukwe 3rd.
THE RAZOR reports that first draft games, winner was Benny Egbunonu, second Stanley Onunkwo, while in Acho games, Dr Chinwe Nwoyeocha came first, Joy Mbachi came second while Dr Njideka Ezeonyejiaku third.
Also, those who participated in Push up games are Abuchi Onwumelu first, Okey Onuegbu 2nd, while Omenugha the chair pledged to boost moral of participants.
Swell games are 1st Chika Nnabuife, 2nd position Chika Okeke while Uche Nworah 3rd and Ludo games had Angel Okoroafor and Chigozie Chukwuleta.
In Whot games Ify Obi won, Ogemdi Ozoemena 2nd and Dr Chinwe Amatu 3rd.
All winners received 10kg bag of rice which second positions received 5kg bag of rice plus other consolidation prizes to all participants.
Dr Julius Nwosu, secretary of the 2023 indoor games advise journalists to ensure that they regularly engage in physical exercise always.
Nwosu said that constant body exercise takes one out of hospital and urged journalists to exercise always routinely check their health medically.
Mr Benny Egbunonu, public Relations Officer of Nsugbe College of Education, who spoke on behalf of all participants described the event as worthwhile.
Egbunonu appealed to journalists to always make it to their events as the event witnessed low turn out of journalists who left their own events to cover other people program.
He commended the organisers and council for the innovation.
