The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has said that for big wigs in the All Progressives Congress (APC) wooing the Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo to contest the state’s 2025 governorship poll on the APC platform shows that Soludo is the best for the job.
The National Coordinator of APGA Media forum, Chinedu Obigwe, who was reacting to a recent media report suggesting that there was heavy pressure on Soludo to join the APC to realize his reelection bid said the development was a credit to Soludo and his good works.
Though the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, had denied the speculation of pressure on Soludo to join APC, describing it as the figment of imagination of rumour peddlers, Obigwe in a statement on Saturday said, “The news is a confirmation of what we have been saying that Governor Soludo remains the best and that he cannot be compared with anybody.
Continuing Obigwe said,”For me, this is a welcome development because it has shown that Governor Soludo is a beautiful bride and that his good work in Anambra turned him into a good product that markets itself.
“They are not wooing Governor Soludo just because of the incumbency factor, they are wooing him because they know very well that he is among Nigeria best brain and that he can be described as the best performing Governor in today Nigeria.
“What I know for sure is that Governor Soludo will not betray APGA by defecting to APC and that he will win the 2025 governorship election convincingly without defecting to APC.
“The threat of APC to activate their plan B to take over Anambra State if Governor Soludo refuses to defect to their party is an empty threat.
“Governor Soludo as a tested and trusted nationalist will support the administration of President Tinubu to succeed for the betterment of Nigerians but as for betraying APGA by defecting to APC, he will not do that.
“Governor Soludo remains a golden fish that has no hiding place.
Obigwe added, “With him as Anambra Governor till 2030, our state will turn to Africa – Dubai- Taiwan of Nigeria.
“Ndi Anambra will continue supporting his administration because of the good work he is doing in our state.”
