The pet project of the wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo, and the non-governmental organization, All For Women Initiative Nigeria, A-WIN will collaborate to re-invigorate the communal upbringing of children in the state.
The governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo who made this known when she received in the audience a delegation of A-WIN, at the Governor’s lodge Amawbia, thanked the group for the initiative and said that it gladdens her heart to see more groups and women who are passionate to address the increasing issues of violence and other social vices against women and children.
She, therefore, assured the group of her strong collaboration to ensure that all their lofty vision and mission were achieved.
Mrs Soludo frowned that communal parenting which African societies were known for is being lost and the consequences are the rise in crime, loss of valuable etiquette, and moral decadence in our society.
She re-emphasized the importance of healthy living among women as the engine house to a healthy family and asked women to pay attention to what they eat.
Contributing, the Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Anambra State, Mrs. Ify Obinabo recounted the various breakthroughs the present administration has recorded in the effort to end domestic maltreatment and abuse and explained that these successes and justice delivered for victims are the reason more people are confident to speak up and speak out when they bear witness or become a victim of such incidents.
Earlier in her briefing, the Founder of A-WIN, Comrade Stella Igboka decried the status of women in modern Nigerian society despite numerous efforts to change the narrative, emphasizing that this has continued to greatly contribute to the exposure of gender to many societal vices.
She then invited Mrs Soludo to the summit being organized by the group during this year’s International Women’s Day celebration which she said will be their first major step to addressing the challenges facing women in society.
