The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has expressed optimism that Nigeria can overcome its current economic challenges with a positive approach and rightful disposition from leaders and citizens.

In his message commemorating Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, Udeze paid glowing tribute to the country’s founding fathers, including Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo, and Ahmadu Bello, for their selfless service and sacrifice.

The Speaker’s statement was made available to our correspondent by Emma Madu, SSA/Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker.

He urged Nigerians to sustain the legacies of these nationalists and elder statesmen to ensure their efforts and vision endure.

According to Udeze, Nigeria’s peace, unity, and development are collective responsibilities that require the active participation of all citizens. He called on religious and political leaders, as well as citizens, to pray for the country’s revival and work towards its economic recovery.

“Nigeria has all it takes to bounce back to the era of economic boom and adequate security of lives and property of the masses,” Udeze stated. “We must seek the face of God through prayer for the revival of our beloved country.”

The Speaker commended leaders who have utilized their positions to improve the living standards of Nigerians and prayed for the eradication of harmful acts and vices hindering Nigeria’s progress.

“I commend those in leadership positions who have continued to use their exalted offices to improve the living standard of the masses,” Udeze said.

“I pray God drives away those inhuman acts and other vices that have continued to retard the pace of Nigeria’s development and hamper corporate existence of the people.”

Udeze reaffirmed his commitment to working with other stakeholders to ensure Anambra State and Nigeria at large achieve prosperity and greatness.
