Labour Party’s George Moghalu has expressed confidence in his ability to unseat Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, in the 2025 governorship election.
Moghalu stated this while hosting 21 Local Government Council Chairmen from his party at his Nnewi home.
He acknowledged that removing Soludo won’t be easy, but achievable with a team of committed and critical thinkers
Moghalu criticized Soludo’s leadership, citing collapsing security, frequent killings, kidnappings, and tax collection methods that involve violence.
He emphasized that citizens have lost faith in the government and leadership.
Moghalu referenced Anambra State’s esteemed history, mentioning notable figures like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, suggesting that Soludo’s actions would have their ancestors “churning in their graves”
Moghalu pledged to deliver results within four years, vowing to maintain his honour and dignity.
He vouched his commitment to keeping agreements, apologizing when wrong, and listening to sound arguments.
The state Chairman, Ugochukwu Emeh, praised Moghalu’s courage and consultation with party leaders, encouraging him to continue .
Soludo, a renowned economist and former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, has been in office since March 2022.
His leadership has been marked by significant economic policies, but Moghalu’s statements indicate a strong challenge in the upcoming election .
