As Anambra State workers join their counterparts in celebrating this year’s International Workers’ Day, Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has described the state workforce as solid partners in progress.
In a goodwill message, Udeze commended the workers for their impressive performance in various civil service competitions, where they have consistently outshone their counterparts nationwide.
The Speaker noted that the workers have brought pride to the state by clinching first positions and overall best teacher awards in both national and international competitions.
Udeze also praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration for its efforts in improving the welfare of workers through massive employments, training, and retraining, as well as providing support to organized labour.
Udeze urged workers to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture by maintaining a positive image and reputation, shunning acts that could tarnish their image.
He encouraged them to reflect on how to be more productive and innovative, leveraging the occasion of the Workers’ Day to renew their dedication and resilience.
The Speaker expressed appreciation for the State Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, and other stakeholders in the public and civil service sector for transforming the system.
He urged workers to continue supporting the Soludo administration, which has positively impacted their lives and restored their dignity.
