Umunnachi Community Expresses Solidarity with the YPP Guber Candidate

Umunnachi community in Dunukofia LGA, on Saturday, expressed their support for Sir Paul Chukwuma, the Young Progressive Party, YPP candidate, and his deputy, Uzu Okagbue, in the November 8, Anambra State Governorship election. This support expressed by the community came as Uzu Okagbue, informed them that he is on the ticket of the YPP with Sir Paul Chukwuma, the party’s candidate. The event which was held at the civic centre of Umunnachi was well-attended by Ndi Ichie Umunnachi, including Ichie Okpala and others, Umunnachi Improvement Union leaders, Umunnachi Women Union, Ndi Nze Umunnachi, Iyom Society Umunnachi led by their leader, Chief Mrs. Ngozika Njelita, and the Umueze dance troupe, among many others.

In his opening remarks, the President General of the Umunnachi community Arch Frank Okonkwo said that the gathering was significant because the community civic centre had never been filled by an audience before, as was the case on Saturday. He also acknowledged that Uzu Okagbue, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the YPP, has proven himself as one who is committed to the public good. “Today’s gathering is significant. Uzu is one man who I have relied on what I learned from his father till today. He is a solid community leader who genuinely cares about the public good. Uzu has also contributed so much to the growth of our community,” the PG said.

Speaking, Uzu Okagbue, the YPP deputy governorship candidate said he came to formally inform the community that he is on the ballot as Sir Paul Chukwuma’s running mate in the YPP, for the November 8 Anambra State Governorship Election. “I am here to inform Ndi Umunnachi that I am on the ballot for the November 8 Governorship Election. So, your son is the running mate of the YPP Governorship candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma,” Uzu said.

The community offered absolute support and solidarity to the YPP. A passionate speech by Dr. Oliver Onwughali, Ichie Ikemba, was most compelling to the admiration of the entire community. They then offered prayers, which were led by Chief Ikechukwu Nwachuya, Onowu Umunnachi, with the entire community and leaders affirming their total solidarity with the YPP candidate in the November 8 Anambra State Governorship Election.
