Deputy governorship candidate of Young Progressives Party (YPP), Mr Uzu Okagbue has praised the traditional ruler of Mbaukwu, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Peter Nwokike Anugwu.
Okagbue who attended the new yam festival of the community penned down a tribute to the monarch who he described as his foster father.

It was both a delight and a deeply fulfilling moment to share time with my foster father of the past two decades: the revered traditional ruler of Mbaukwu, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Peter Nwokike Anugwu, Igwe Ezeukwu, during the celebration of his new yam festival, beautifully adorned with the colour, majesty, and ancestral blessings of Ofala.
My bond with Igwe is more than filial; it is steeped in history and culture. He shared a profound friendship with my late father, Chike Okagbue (Ezennia), and in continuity of that legacy, he has remained a fountain of fatherly guidance to me and my family. To sit with him is to sit with living history, for Igwe is not only a custodian of tradition but a vast encyclopaedia of Igbo culture, memory, philosophy and honest wealth creation. Every encounter with him is both educative and inspiring, drawing me deeper into the richness of our heritage.
Ocheze, Dr. Ebele Anugwu, was at her graceful best, treating guests to a lavish spread that seamlessly blended tradition with sophistication. From the most sumptuous of native delicacies to an array of intercontinental cuisine, she curated a feast that married nativity with global flavors, leaving every palate delighted, every guest satisfied, and the atmosphere enriched with her signature touch of elegance.
Ezeukwu is a monarch whose reign, now spanning over half a century, stands as a testimony to resilience, wisdom, and divine mandate. His throne today commands the reverence of generations, as younger traditional rulers attend his annual Ofala and Igu Aro festival, seeking from him the timeless fountain of leadership, tradition, and spiritual authority that cannot be overstated.
May Eze ka Eze continue to reign in good health, clarity of mind, and the grace of the ancestors, as he remains a towering symbol of culture, continuity, and wisdom in our time.
