Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Dr Nonye Soludo has taken inventory of the progress of 100 ladies from the state enrolled for training in male dominated jobs.

The women had five weeks ago commenced training in various skills, with the specific aim of involving women in certain skills that were previously seen as the exclusive rights of their male counterpart

The skills included tricycle mechanic, solar installation, carpentry, POP ceiling installation and many more. The wife of the governor had enrolled them for the training, while also promising to set them up when they complete their training.

Mrs Soludo had described the scheme as first batch, promising to support more ladies, to ensure job availability for them.

Taking inventory of their story on Saturday, Mrs Soludo stated that she was impressed with the progress, after strictly monitoring them in their various training places across the state.

She said: “It’s been five weeks of intensive practical classes for the Anambra Skilled Ladies Program. What thrills me most about this novel exercise is the passion, dedication and meticulousness that these amazing ladies have invested in every task, however daunting.

“I’m pleased with how far we’ve come in this great vision. Soon, these ladies — who began this journey out of sheer passion — would be graduating with the kind of quality and experience that will transform their lives forever. The future is bright on this side. These women are the real changemakers.”
