2027: Constituents Back Victor Umeh for Re-election, Hail Him ‘Senator-General of Ndigbo’

AWKA — Netizens and supporters of Senator Victor Umeh have thrown their weight behind his re-election bid for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, describing him as the “Senator-General of Ndigbo.”

The endorsements followed Umeh’s emergence as the senatorial candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 election.

The supporters, in separate comments and messages circulating online, said Umeh remained their preferred candidate for the senatorial district, citing what they described as his robust representation, constituency interventions and advocacy for the interests of the South-East at the National Assembly.

One of the supporters said Anambra Central did not need “experiments” in 2027, arguing that the district required a tested and experienced representative with a strong understanding of the workings of the Federal Government.

“Anambra Central needs a tested voice, a strategic, bold and fearless fighter, and a federal insider who understands how power works in Abuja,” the supporter said.

The supporter further credited Umeh with “robust representation, key interventions, constituency projects and unapologetic defence of Igbo interests on the Senate floor.”

Another supporter declared that Umeh’s re-election was no longer a matter of prayer but “a testimony” for the people of Anambra Central.

“Senator Victor Umeh’s re-election is no longer a prayer point but a testimony to Ndị Anambra Central Senatorial District,” the supporter said.

The online campaigners also linked Umeh’s continued presence in the Senate to broader aspirations for greater political influence for the South-East, including the emergence of an Igbo president of Nigeria.

They argued that the South-East needed strong and credible voices capable of building alliances and laying the groundwork for greater participation in national politics.

Umeh, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), currently represents Anambra Central Senatorial District in the Senate.

His supporters have described him as “Ohamadike Ndị Igbo” and now “Senator-General of Ndigbo,” while declaring their solidarity with his 2027 re-election campaign.

“Victor Umeh is the man and the mandate Anambra Central cannot afford to lose,” one of the messages stated.
Another supporter wrote: “Ohamadike Ndị Igbo, anyi kwụ gị n’azụ,” expressing continued support for the senator.

With his NDC nomination secured, Umeh is now set to campaign for another term as the representative of Anambra Central in the Senate in the 2027 elections.
