Election is over, it’s time to work together – Ekwusigo Mayor-elect calls for support 

The Mayor-elect of Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Ifeanyi Onuchukwu, has called for support from indigenes of the local government, stating that now that election is over, the time to work together is now.

Onuchukwu who is the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the local government election which held on Saturday was declared winner by the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC).

In a press release he personally signed to thank the people for coming out enmasse to vote for him, the chairman expressed willingness to work with all for the betterment of the local government.

Below is the text…

With a heart filled with profound gratitude and humility, I sincerely thank the good people of Ekwusigo for the overwhelming support, confidence and trust demonstrated during the August 29 Anambra State Local Government Elections.

Your massive turnout and peaceful participation were powerful expressions of hope, unity and a shared belief in a brighter future for our beloved Ekwusigo. I am deeply honoured by the mandate you have entrusted to me, and I accept it with a profound sense of responsibility, humility and unwavering commitment to service.

This victory belongs to every son and daughter of Ekwusigo, our respected elders, women, youths, traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, party faithful, supporters, volunteers and everyone who prayed, sacrificed and worked tirelessly with us throughout this journey.

I extend my profound appreciation to the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), at the national, state and local government levels. Your guidance, encouragement and unwavering support contributed immensely to the success of our campaign and our eventual victory at the polls.

I am especially grateful to the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, whose visionary and transformational leadership has continued to strengthen our great party and deepen the confidence of Ndi Anambra in the APGA-led administration. His commitment to building a livable and prosperous homeland remains an inspiration to us all.

I also sincerely appreciate all critical stakeholders across Ekwusigo for their support, wise counsel and steadfast commitment to the peace, unity and progress of our local government. Your invaluable contributions throughout the electioneering process will always be remembered with gratitude.

The election has come and gone. Now is the time to set aside our differences and unite as one people, bound together by our shared heritage, common destiny and collective aspirations. Regardless of political affiliation or personal preference, we are all Ndi Ekwusigo, and the peace, progress and development of our local government must remain our common purpose.

I pledge to serve every community, ward and resident of Ekwusigo with fairness, humility and dedication. Our administration will be open, accountable, responsive and inclusive. No community will be neglected, no voice will be ignored, and no one will be left behind.

Together, we will work towards building a safer, stronger, more inclusive and prosperous Ekwusigo through accountable, people-centred leadership founded on integrity, equity, compassion and service.

Thank you, Ndi Ekwusigo, for believing in our vision and entrusting us with this sacred mandate. Together, we chose progress; together, we will build the Ekwusigo of our collective dreams.
