Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano has extended his earlier order for all Anambra students in University of Jos, Plateau State to be evacuated back to the state.
Obiano said the extension would now include all Indigenes of Anambra living in Jos, and students of other institutions in Jos, that are desirous of returning home from the troubled and crisis ravaged Jos.
Obiano in a press release signed on his behalf by the Commisioner for information and Public enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba said the Abuja liaison officer for the state has been instructed to mount surveillance on the safety of Anambra Indigenes in the state, and report to the governor directly.
“Such persons are enjoined to go to the GUO Motors station in Jos where officials of the Anambra State Liaison office in Abuja will identify them and, in conjunction with GUO Motors management, arrange for their immediate travel.
“Governor Willie Obiano has directed the State Liaison office in Abuja to monitor round the clock the safety of all Anambra students at the University of Jos, the NTA TV College, Jos, the College of Accountancy, Jos, the School of Forestry, Jos, the National Film Institute, Jos, and the Veterinary Institute, Jos. Every report is to be dispatched to him directly through electronic means and to the Secretary to the State Government for immediate action.”
Obiano said the safety of every Anambra Indigene, no matter where in the world they may be is very important to his government.
